The Cannibals

by George Tabori

The space was set up as a Holocaust memorial. Cast hands reached out from the walls, and a long table extended through the space with plexiglass boxes containing the uniforms from the camps. The two survivors of the camp wore matching suits and entered the space. Everyone else wore modern clothes in muted flame tones. They entered and stood before the boxes of their deceased relatives and then dressed in the prison uniforms, becoming the prisoners. The style of the renderings was inspired by the art of the prisoners put on the walls of the camps.
